ENGAGE! Program


SSE works directly with management of a company to host an internal reuse and recycle campaign that enlists the participation of all employees, while building their awareness of sustainable business practices and the “need” of the civic community. SSE has held several such campaigns successfully with corporate partners – who named them – “Clear the Clutter” and “Clean the Closet” and “E-waste Recycle Day,” and created departmental competitions.

Throughout the campaign, employees are encouraged to connect SSE with a charity or school they would like to support. SSE and the company representative work together to set up the logistics of gathering items that are not in use and can be repurposed to the community. Through this process, employees learn to be conscious of “saving items” which are collecting dust and could be better repurposed for reuse, rather than just tossing it in the trash. The ripple effect is they take those lessons home and put them into individual practice.

The workshops are implemented by industry leaders experienced in each relevant topic. The E-recycle is managed by an SSE recycling partner who will collect and process the electronic waste.

BONUS: Host an Entrepreneur’s Day at Sponsor’s Facility where the host engages with local entrepreneurs and speaks to their core competencies responsible for their success.
